Comic #200: Mandrake - Test of a Magician (TCP Second Anniversary Issue)

Tuesday, April 17, 2007 Share: Digg Technorati Delicious StumbleUpon Facebook

2 years!! 200 comics!! 257 Posts!!

I had no idea I'll keep doing this for 2 years but here I am again on TCP's second anniversary.

Ajnabi said in one of his comments:
"
…Those who came late…..
2 years back…. on 17th April 2005….. An idle Sunday Evening at about 04:45 PM...
The revolution begins…..
TCP started his laptop on Batteries (as power was cut) and connected his scanner (probably on UPS/inverter) and digitize the 28 pages of “The Emperor’s Dream”. "

psst...ajnabi...my scanner was USB powered :-)

Fewer comics were posted this year and the celebrations compared to last year have been not so big. Visitors have gone up - but I am not counting anymore. Comments have decreased but I guess that was unavoidable. But the regulars are still here with a few more lurking in the shadows and some have completely disappeared. All in all, it was fun bringing 70+ comics in TCP's 2nd year. Stay tuned. There's more to come.

Contributors - Thanks for keeping TCP alive

Visitors - Please keep coming back

The rest - Hope you find us :-)

IYER EDUCATION completes two years too - Congrats mate. Keep the Iyer flag fliyering.

I guess all readers to TCP should put their hands together and cheer TCP for continuously giving Indrajal Comic fans so much joy over the last 2 years. Many of us start things in a moment of enthusiasm, but do not have the patience to continue with it over a period of time. Sometimes, we are just not able to devote enough time to our passion, and sometimes the enthusiasm just dies away. But TCP has to be commended for keeping this this going for 2 year consistantly.

Thanks to all the contributors as well, who have sent comics to TCP. I wish my mom had not thrown away the bundles of Indrajal comics I had in my childhood, else I too could have contributed a few. But rest assured, I will always try to keep posting my comments regularly, and also try to spread the word about TCP to as many people as possible.

I had found out sometime back that there were around 650-700 Indrajal comics released in total. At this rate, TCP can keep going for another 5 years, till all the Indrajal comics ever released are posted here.

I guess the journey has just begun!!

Two years I've been away from home and any time I've wanted to be remembered of the good times all i've got to do is come back here to this site :)

Thanks TCP!

Well,Well...2 whole years and 200 comics..its really something appreciative which should be duly appreciated a lot as i do agree with shubham that many of us start things in a moment of enthusiasm but do not have patience to continue over a long period of time..mostly the reasons behind it are scarcity of time in comparison to other preferences, loss of enthusiasm/intrest and finally achievment of motive behind.
TCP has covered a journey of 2 long years and credit also goes to its contributors and moral booster visitors..as moral boosting comments on regular interval are very necessary to keep the fire of enthusiasm burning.TCP is quite lucky to find such cheering up visitors regularly.
Finally a Big Hip Hip Hurray to TCP for achieving this milestone.

Get a feeling of a big wow whenever I see Mandrake comics of the '70s era. They were amazing.

Kudos to TCP!! For past a decade and a half I have been collecting Phantom & Mandrake comics. Right after I came across Comic Project and Comic World sites, my weekend routine includes saving the comics in appropriate folders, and burning them into a disc.

You have doing us a great favour buddy!! Thanks from all Indrajal lovers..

Vijay Gautam

p.s.: I have some wonderful Mandrake and Phantom editions. I too will scan them sometime for common good. Thanks...

TCP: Brother you have been doing humanity a great service indeed, and no need to be humble about it, it's true :-) Tum jeeyo hazaar saal, saal mein comics hon pachaas hazaar(May you live for a thousand years and may each year have a thousand comics)!

May the Force be with all of us!

@anonymous: It takes less than 5 minutes to create a google ID. It is not that hard as you think :) So please take the effort to register yourself.

What is this? It's almost 2 days since the 200th comic and only 32 comments till now? What is the world coming to? There was a time when we would have easily reached 200 comments in less than a day. IM, Sunshine, Cloudy, RS, Horizon, Revealed...where are you guys??? The country needs you!

Congrats TCP! And now I have another bottle of scotch. When shall we open it buddy? ;-)

Congrats TCP on getting 200 comics posted in 2 years. Your efforts and patience are greatly appreciated. Thanks for providing the comics that we once read and longed to own them. I hope and pray contributors can get their hands on all indrajals published and keep scanning them for TCP & CW to publish them. Many many thanks to the contributors Mishraji, Chandoba, CW & others for taking the time to scan the comics.

i think the reduction in the no. of comments might also be due to the fact that a lot of people read blog poss thru RSS readers like google reader etc.. so they actually dont end up visiting the blog to read the post, and hence do not make any comments as well..

but where are all the oldies??
IM, Sunshine, Cloudy, RS, Horizon, Revealed...

Shailesh said...

Way to go, dude!

Shubham said...

I have a question for TCP..
How many Indrajal comics do you have??

Shubham said...

Interacting with other mad comic fans is almost as much fun as reading the comics themselves.. :-)

Shubham said...

The battle for the 1st comment has become a cherished tradition at TCP..

Shubham said...

I have rcetly downloaded ALL, yes ALL the phantom, mandrake and flash gorden comics at TCP !!

Shubham said...

And with this, I have hit another milestone.. I am making the 50th comment.. :-)

Shubham said...

But I am not done yet.. Another question for TCP.. Who do you thing is the oldest and most consistant commenter on your blog? I think it is Obi Wan..

Obi Wan said...

Shubham: I wish I were the oldest, but I came in quite late- on October 25th, 2005 to be precise :-)

People like RS, Joe, IM, Cloudy were regular visitors before I stumbled upon this marvel! Other old-timers are welcome to let people know when and how did they discover TCP!

Hi TCP,

Please remove the comment posted on my name.

I no longer post any anonymous message. I do not want this disturber to use my name hence I will reply with my id only.

Please remove the comment. It is giving wrong impression about me.

Obi Wan,
My 1st comment on TCP was on 25th August 2005. So I am older than you :-)

But I guess there are many other older folks around. It would be nice to know when each of us 1st visited TCP.
