"Anonymous" says "There was one Flash comic in which he comes across an abandoned flying battleship in space and finds a lone female passenger on it. One line she said, I still use that in my conversations, 'Bend a twig and break a star'. Would anyone have that issue and could they post it here, please? In English, if possible."
On another note, we managed to collect just over USD 3k and counting - and a lot of prayers for our friend.

After millions of years, and trillions of posts, I finally get a top spot!!! I would like to thank one of our production houses-Plan B Films, for sending me scripts for approval on a Sunday evening, forcing me to come to a net cafe, check the scripts, and then log on to TCP!!! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!

Found a new "old jungle saying" in this comic..
"The Pahntom's 'Hmm!' has sometimes scared strong men half to death."..
As anyone encountered this saying in any other Phantom comic ??
Nice comic. I love the way he scares the thugs.

Great Job Obi-Wan! Looks like Force is with you!!!!!

@Shail: Congrats:). Glad you gave up the struggle. Though I must warn you, these are tough times on TCP and the competition is fierce. But do not lose heart (even if TCP's grrrr scares strong men half to death- ojs ;) >:D<

And happy bday to ur friend i dont know TCP
About the flash comic, actually there were two issue. One in which they encounter the Dhreen Bettle ship with lone lady. Another when they stuck in time wrap again and relive the same thing but slightly different story. So which one you are missing ?
Hello Johnny Hotwire,
I guess it was the first one, but I would be real obliged if you could post either of them or both, preferably. The second one sounds more tantalising from what you say.
I always felt that Flash Gordon comics were superior to both the Phantom and Mandrake ones, they had a eeire dream-like quality to them, some of them at least and really stretched your imagination.
Anyone else have a similar opinion?
Regards,
Pradeep
prayers...well, kind of having doubts about that these days. Still. will try n pray for your friend
please can you people host tose invaluable comics on some other site?it's such a head-ace to download it from there.also after 30 days it expires.may be you can use filefront.please...

Thank you for this issue! Real nice story.
A million thanks, Johnny Hotwire,
That was the one I was looking for, but..but.. and I do not want to sound finicky here.. and I am not denigrating our national language and all.. and it's not that I am not grateful, I definitely appreciate, appreciate very much the trouble you took scanning those pages.. but, tell you the truth, Mr Hotwire, I have to say 'Kaaran aur prabhav! Prithvi par tahni bhi jhukhao tho prabhav nakshatron tak hotha hai!' just doesn't have the same effect now, does it?
Now, that was my opinion, just stating it frankly. My apologies to you, Mr Garamtaar, if I have come across as imperinent.
What do you all think? I would like to hear everyone's *honest* opinions on this matter, I usually read all the English comics here, but just a few panels of the Hindi ones.
I think when you translate a book, unless it is by a very accomplished translator, you tend to lose the flavor of the original.
Reminds me of the translated versions of some movie, perhaps Godzilla or was it Jurassic Park. Them respectable dinos were referred to as 'Bhayanak chipkalis' or something like that. Made a fine mockery of the whole thing...
East is east and west is west and never shall the twain meet..Kipling bol gaye..
Cheers..
@anonymous: i have to agree with you. you tend to lose the original flavour of the language when you translate.
and it works both ways - i don't think 'I have mother with me' holds a candle to Amitabh's 'Mere paas maa hain' from Deewar ;-)
@Anon: I couldnt agree with you more and I do the same, read all the english ones and start on the hindi and then stop. Not only cos it loses its flavour as you so aptly pointed out but also cos I have to translate the hindi back to english in my head and that's just too much work [-(, but to each his own and if TCP deems it right to post the hindi versions so be it, we still love TCP :p.
I have a english story also but its not a Indrajal print so cannot put here send me your email to pahantomcomics@gmail.com if you wish to read it in english.
Also I have read most of the story in both hindi and english and can vouch that Indrajal has done a good job in translating it and have same falvour as english version.
phantomcomics@gmail.com sorry for typos
@obi: congrats!! And that's quite a thank you speech :-)
@tin tin: you seem to be in the reckoning now for spots huh?
@revealed: that makes it 2 women and 1 man in the top 3!!
@comandergood: you are welcome coMander and keep visiting
@shail: :-) weren't you the one who thought this game was um... :-) welcome to the great game. Sometimes I love this blog
@shail: marathi version..maybe i can post it some day..after all .. it's Jai Hind, Jai Maharashtra (without Shiv Sena)
@chacko: you're welcome. I don't even remember who contributed it :-(
@sunshine: 3 out of 5 are women!!!!!!!
@shubham: congrats and never heard of that OJS before
@manthiram: thenku
@indianmalang: GRRRRRRR Who contributed this..please thank the contributor..i feel guilty of taking credit where its not due... and FOR NOW was a good point ;-)
@revealed: shail's figured that out ;-) hey..that's not fair..my grrrrr is not for scaring anyone..hehe..but you are not scared..right? woman!!
@nikhil: congrats
@cloudy: thanks...in the top 10..4 out of 9 are women. but we only have what..5 women on this blog? cloudy, tin tin, rs, sunshine, revealed? so this is like 80% attendance
@sketchy: the plots were always so simple...almost repetitive but it always was lovable..is lovable
@tin tin: my friend also doesn't know that i wished him here :-) poor guy has no idea what he's missing
@johnny hotwireeeeeeeeeee: GIVE US BOTH!!!!!!!
@anon-pradeep: johnny's the man...he will get us both soon
@rs: 100% attendance...yehhhhhhhhhhh. Prayers work in some way or they other..they may not be enough..but they do their bit i guess
@bhoota: the comics posted on rapidshare won't expire in 30 days :-) I use a paid account
@icr: now TCP is also a message board ;-) neaaat. Thanks for the pics
@col.worobu: one with the cool name...thanku
@anon-pradeep: I agrees..but it doesn't matter how accomplished the translator is:-(
@shail: I HAVE MUMMY!! You have what!!!?
@revealed: Not just Hindi..I am open for other languages as well..but after English, Hindi seems to be the most preferred. And Indrajal became a phenomenon during those days because it was published in Indian languages too. Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil...
