Extremely busy. Found time to peek in here and laugh at the cartoongiri going on. Apologies for not replying earlier. Thanks for being such wonderful nuts. So instead of responding in the comments, I decided to post it here.

Congrats on #1, 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300 and 75 and THIRTY SIX POINT FIVE :)

Btw..just curious and would be happy to know
1. When did you first come here?
2. How did you find out about TCP?

Old Jungle Saying Contest is officially closed. Winners will be announced soon. But no prizes :-(

Comic #125
@obi wan: Congrats :) you didn't have to laugh like that
@shubham: I like that "technically" word
@motku: You announced properly this time and like Tin Tin said, it is "dudette"
@Tin Tin: your obsession with 19th needs to be clarified, but looks like you are looking to be consistent :-) Maybe rules will change again
@KomixKreate: Saw your work and liked it. I think we would be glad to have you around here contributing some comics ;-) But, just you wait and I'm going to send some people your way
@sketchy self: very rough so rough that 10th is 4th hehe. And good observation on Derek
@johnny hotwire: interesting info. I'm not sure many know about this background

Comic #126
@motku: It's good you said "first" or rules would have expanded to include "english only announcement". You sound like...first shoot then talk ;-)
@hellfire: why would you do a thing like that...why
@tull: Show will go on and off and on and off
@shubham: I loved this story too..something "human" about it
@johnny hotwire: And without people like you, we couldn't have relived those days
@sherlock holmes: you look new? or have I seen you before? :-)
@chatterbai: Too much commercialization?
@cloudy: yayyy inventor :-) fun things happening over there
@obi wan: stealing and hiding? You hiding? Impossible.
@Tin Tin: who's amma? Mother wala amma or is that a nickname?
@old man mozz: Not in Bombay re :-( Miss it so badly. Btw..i love that jangri from that shop near Matunga station..what's the name? Kamat? don't remember. When we were little..we said .. MAtunga MAtunga tera naak katunga (your nose i will bite)
@sunshine: Sunshine is also now tiny star? The sun anyway is not the largest of stars is it? Btw Obi just pretending. He is not hiding. He cant.
@shashi: hmmm 1 every 15 days..damn..this was 2-3 a week :-) Smart dad you had. He kept you hungry and now you are eating with both hands. Show him this. Tell him. Bhagwaan ke ghar me der hai..andher nahi (God's house has delay but no darkness)
@germworks: Brilliant forum. You are free to steal away a few of us from TCP ;-) I read that comment on the forum. Will have you on the hop soon. More people deserve to know about your effort.
@Joe: You have to find time..or katti!!! :-)

Comic #127 - 308 Comments!!!!!!!!!
This one is the toughest to respond to but I will try anyway. Why tough? Because of so many comments and because most of it is just shouting in the same way we did when we got out of school after the last period of the day. Weird. The word period. In school it was so easy to use. Now we grow up and it suddenly feels a bit odd. I wonder what my teacher's thought when they said this..hmm..or maybe the word was not popular then.

@shubham: CONGRATS :-) and close finish too!!!!! August 2005 hmm..that was when TCP was getting into form :)
@sherlock holmes: Jusssssssssssssst missed yaar. Just missed. And you got it 3rd time right :-)
@horizon: trust you to be a pakka opportunist ;-) and these comics won't die. I am sure because for all the years I didn't read them, I always made sure that it survived all my book purges
@sunshine aka tiny star: be careful. Rules might change to you have to SURELY announce position not GUESSFULLY announce. SMELLING PISTAKES is nice :)))))) Although your saying is not a OJS, I liked it ;-) We are obsessed with her. Maaf karo yaar usko (forgive do friend her)
@obi wan:lot's of huffing and puffing to get to 5th huh? :-)
@shoooonya: If you had 2 "o"s in your name instead of 4, we would have called you DOUBLE OH NYA .. but we'll call you DOUBLE OH DOUBLE OH NYA :-) You got the connection right by the way. And if you guessed L1, I ain't too far away :-) no mystery about me. I just prefer being anonymous
@sketchy self: 6 = 23, 4 = 19. My already bad maths has now gone on indefinite strike. 36.5 is just too good.
@tull: This time you logged in.
@vikram: Will try super hard to keep going and hope that it never ceases to be fun bringing this to you
@johnny hotwire: You of all the people don't say thanks. Please :-)
@cloudy: Idiots..both sketchy and tull. Really. hehe. It's fun watching how some things have changed. Although I announce the # of hits like its a big deal, the bigger deal and the one I don't announce, is the time someone spends on the site. It used to be 2 minutes and for a long time 3 minutes, but the last 3 months has seen it go up to 7 minutes. THAT is about balls not just about eyeballs ;-)
@thephantom: Rename yourselffffffffff I call you DupliKit Walker already :) Yeah mate..Lee Falk was a genius. Never saw him as a hero until much later.
@tin tin: the rolling 19th. Sounds like some music album name that wont get released ...oops..only masti ok? :-) and thanks for talking about the cute baby..no one else interested in a skintight costumed baby here
@motku: the weird number syndrome (like tin tin) is affecting you too motku?
@bigfoot: I have actually read a comic where the character is called bigfoot. It's mandrake I think. Did i say this earlier sometime? Btw..do you know the Malayalam movie that had John Travolta in a leading role? - it is PhenoMENON :-)
@old man mozz: I can understand your frustration, that's why this started in the first place. It's been great to have you here for the last few months too.
@shubham: 7 years. That's a tough ask :-) But you never know
@desiguru: IP was critical to this - right from the day I spent 3000 on the scanner :-) Although one of the reasons given to purchase the scanner was "We can scan your portfolio also" :-). I am sure she has not read even one comic - she's a ACK/Tinkle lover.
@obi wan: fantastic translation. and your jungle saying is precisely the kind of population explosion we don't need. And sons to no chance. Women of the world unite. This is not a good blessing to give ;-)
@IP: Tu kidhar se aai re!!!!!!!!!! :-) [ Yahoo Icon >:D< ] @shashi: yes this party has gone on longer than expected @sketchy self: haha phantom dancing :)))))) @kiddo: There you are hiding amongst all these comments @obi wan: yeah. Many missing people. The siblings have just vanished. Poof @cloudy: that was interesting, the earth catching fire. I'm going to recycle that. @desiguru: congrats on 75th. But ouch for your other attempts :( @net_asterix: Our first airport comment poster :-) @balaji: More and more to come. Much more. @obi: spamming ok? this is cheating. @manthiram: your count i didn't understand But 100 and 101 are both good. One is a century and the other a dakshina @sunshine: milord is the word used in old hindi movies in dramatic court scenes :-) MY Lord or Your honour. And as long as you didn't say you ars"e"o generous ;-) @templetiger: Any significance to your name? It's nice @johnny hotwire: I am with you on the rules but it looks like these goons have taken over the streets @Obi: she reads the comments carefully. @shubham: cheating cheating. @horizon: THIS IS SPAMMMMMMMMMINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. no one listens to me :( @desoumal: you were among the first few people here mate..and here you are again :-) Interested in collaborating. Will contact you soon. Let's see what you have in mind :-) @cloudy: looking at you .. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...gnashing teeth...crack..crackle...teeth breaking into pieces "Anger on TCP commentors leads to broken teeth" or should it be commentators? Beware of obi - some time ago, all the maska polish was for sunshine. Now she's gone, he's jumped ship ;-) @desiguru: ouch :( dont want to be in your place. really. @indianmalang: What an entry!!!!! Amazing entry boss. I was thinking all along that this guy is going to come and curse me for posting so many comics in the week he was away, but the entry seems to have made every other thing evaporate :) TO ALL OF YOU: as I am typing these responses for the last 45 minutes, I haven't stopped laughing. Now back to replies @soumyadip: Yes, I recollect how fondly you mentioned Tinkle and couldn't help dropping in a word. You will find your collection in time and I think we will be here to post it :) @johnny hotwire: Feels a bit odd to post that thing you sent me. Blowing my own trumpet types you know. But I think I will post it soon :-) And THANKS. That was touching. @cloudy: yeah..it was rs who did this stunt :-) but she's gone. seems like she's having some rough weather. @obi wan: mithun dialogues are amazing. I will post a Mithun story soon. I am sure you will like it :-) Bheegi hui cigarette lolllllllll Your filmy is getting too filmy..Pattharprooff...Congrats on 300 :) @sunshine: don't believe everything obi wan says @sketchy: moonstone coming soon..dont worry. it has been sent to me already. will have to interrupt the sequence to get it in place. @alain: Our french visitor :)))) If you are in Paris, let me know. I am not far. @kartikeya: and yours is a super effort too. Coming up with your own rating system. Amazing. Wow...responded to all. Amazing.

Hi TCP . Congratulations, on reaching all these landmarks. Have been busy with work and generally had a lot to think about, but no rough weather.. am really amazed by all the stuff out there to learn.. anyway. Thanks for giving due credit Cloudy, I keep checking out your blog too, we have a lot in common (gender, age, zodiac!!). Am planning a relaxing weekend reading all the comics (and the 300+ comments). As for the siblings..hmm they are just plain lazy.

Indrajal Comic Reader said...

Hi TCP,
Man you really found time to respond to everyone. Hats off to you for the dedication you have on this blog. Thank you for the response. I am so deligted to know that many more comics are on the way. Cheers & Good Luck on your efforts. Will send you some stuff soon.

Indrajal Comic Reader said...

Oh Forgot about your questions.
I was here I believe in October/November 2005 and found TCP through Google searching for Indrajal Comics.
I went to all the previous months archived blogs and caught up on the comics I had missed.

Shubham said...

wow.. some effort that.. responding to more than 500 comments at one go.. :)

When did I visit TCP for the 1st time?
August 2005

How did I come to know about TCP?
From Manish Chauhan's blog. (Thanks Manish, I love u for that:))

Old Man Mozz said...

Hi TCP - you must be feeling like a proud parent whose child has done exceptionally well. Tremendous achievement man especially to respond to all the comments.
I LUV ALL OF YOU who have posted all these comments. U MAKE MY DAY EVERY DAY. It feels like being back on the college kutta once again, but unfortunately nobody admitted to reading comics at that time (too wise for it?).

Obi Wan said...

Me 3rd Me 3rd :-)

Obi Wan said...

Now for the proper comment. I 1st came to TCP in October last year, very soon after I started blogging. In fact, TCP features in my 3rd ever post on this blog. I was having a wierd and restless day in office(mann vichalit ho raha tha, in my language)and did a google search for Phantom comics online. Woh din aur aaj ka din...(That day and today's day...) :-)

May the Force be with you.

Obi Wan said...

But motku's timely correction was damn funny :-)

Obi Wan said...

tcp: I have the Bigfoot waala Mandraka comic. Mandrake and Lothar fight Bigfoot, a Yeti like creature in a jungle. Still remember a dialogue that Lothar uses after delivering a mighty punch to bigfoot: 'The bigger they are, the harder they fall!'
Will try to scan and mail it soon, after Heloise naamkaran of course:-)

Amazing stamina and willpower :) You will win yourself many more fans I am sure!

Cloudy said...

Oh and I've been with you since first post, TCP... I've mentioned it before, but for the record it was Tin Tin who told me about you (Thanks, dudette!)

@RS: Great to know we have all that in common. Know what? If you're still in ATL, we aren't too far from each other. Would be fun to meet. (HaHa in all my internet paranoid life I never imagined I'd be meeting a "cyber friend"!!! I mean, you could turn out to be a serial killer devoted to killing all phantom fans, right?)

@motku: Hey are you going to let your last comment idea die? How about this - Deadline for last comment = split second before TCP posts next comic?

Sketchy Self said...

TCP, thanks for the painstaking response(s). I found TCP through my friend yadbhavishya, who i know lurks here but hasn't commented very often (1 time for your 100th comic). I think I came here sometime in the middle of last year, but spent a lot of time reading the older comics before i joined respected fellow commentors/spammers :D
Motku's "no no no no no" reminds me of Asit Sen from old hindi movies - "Arey naheeeen...main to doooosreeey number pe hooooon!"
In the words of a popular Rin advertisement, I say to TCP, contributors and fellow readers - "LLLLage Raho!"

Indianmalang said...

@TCP: Thanks man for responding..commenting ..on our comments. It tells us that you do care and more importantly you do read {that is scary :-)}.
Thanks for keeping us motivatated by posting such wonderful comics and taking us back to our childhood memories especially when life hits us hard at times!!!

Great Job! Hope to see and Comment on many many many more Anniversaries!

RS said...

Cloudy, yes still here. Would be nice to meet..and I thought exactly the same things. Anyway, thats because great minds think alike :)
But be warned..(ominous voice) I do have an agenda..stealing Phantom comics :D

I heard about TCP from a friend of Sibling's, sibling sent me the link without checking it out. I think I first visited this blog in June/July, was quite some time before i started posting comments though, this was the first time I saw a blog. Downloaded a couple of comics and sent them to the siblings and dad..and they were hooked too.

Tin Tin said...

Anytime clouds! And TCP - forgot to mention some stuff:
1.Amma is my mother – whose phantom fever was damn contagious.
2.19 was coz sometime you’d said it didn’t matter if one was first, second or nineteenth.
3.Jax introduced me to you about 10 months ago I think – I used to be nutteenath (The only girl around back then as you had mentioned in one post :D)
All the best to a great year ahead dude!

Johnny Hotwire said...

@TCP: to answer your question(although I have already mentioned in one of my previous post).

I first came to your site in May 2005. I was discussing my cousin Pratyush, about scanning all my comics and creating a website and next day he gave me link to your site. After checking your site, I finally decided to scan all my comics and start contributing instead of creating my own (Less work to do :-)

comic lover said...

Congratulations.

It was June 2005 I have completed my project and I was waiting for my clients to set up the production environment so as to push it live. My clients were having some problem and I was coming to my clients place and doing nothing. I was surfing for some good comic to read on Web. I found Archie’s and was wondering will there be any for Phantom and Mandrake.

I searched for 'Phantom and Mandrake - Indrajal Comics'. Wooosh...... I got this link and from then on I am visiting almost every day to check out for new comics, comment etc etc. First I couldn't believe that some body would do something like that. But it is true. Though I am not a regular in posting comments I have every comic that you have posted and read every postings and comments.

You know what I have bribed my manager with the comics. :-)

And at last my project went live in March 2006 :-(

The Comic Project said...

@cloudy: congrats :-) And responding to comments like the ones we see here is a joy. I was going to add - are you in Atlanta? but you said it yourself :-) and beware of rs. she is dangerous.
@johnny hotwire: I have decided that I will be shameless and post the strip. And I am happy that you found TCP before you started your website...or I would have had less comics :-( and competition grrrrrrrrr
@motku: just in time..you comment properly again.
@rs: What are you learning that amazes you so much? Curious. Learning has always been tough for me. and studying even tougher :-) and when you finish off cloudy - send the comics to me please ... btw..no dont finish off...TIoG has to go on in the same way as TCP
@balaji: looking forward to it and while I was responding to the comments I thought, my side is something that I would never trade with anyone. I would let someone post comics or write their thoughts - it's easier to give up, but posting replies to comments is difficult to give up
@shubham: I think Manish Chauhan's blog was among the first blog to link TCP. Btw...fingers ached after responding ok? more because I hadn't cut my nails and it was irritating me to no end..but I had to go with the flow:) No no..not saying that I did this facing great adversity lol..just facts and i felt stupid later..i should have cut my nails. IP not around so it's easy to do such things.
@old man mozz: College kutta (dog)? or katta (seating place) where you from...somaiya?ruia? And it feels amazing to see this go on for a year. 1 year ago, I wouldn't have bet on it. But still am taking it one day at a time. I have this ridiculous disease of switching myself off.
@obi wan: When Man get's vichalit, read a comic. And that bigfoot comic i wanttttttttttt badly :-) Scan quality (alignment of pages mainly) thoda theek kar dena bhaiyya.. bribe someone in the office to teach you :-)
@tin tin: you should start your new tintin sayings series :)) I am flattered. really.
@chatterbai: Like the word stamina. Easier to type - doesn't tax the lungs lol. I almost feel like "don't do your work in time and goof off full day and then work late in the night and get everyone around you to appreciate your hardwork ;-)". And I feel stupid that we couldn't catch up for dinner. HEre's a chatterbai saying "Why can't we let a spark be just that..A spark?" Correct me if i got this wrong. And i think now that you got the last comment wala thing right. This makes it very interesting.
@sketchy self: Asit Sen also said "arree oooo bhaaagwaaaaaan...." :-) yadbhavishya I have seen that blog. I don't visit many blogs and the worst part is I don't even have a list of favourites stored. So I miss out on some good ones.
@indianmalang: I hope you are not naaraaz - too much happened while you were away at the undisclosed location - please disclose that now hehe
@tin tin: I said 19th? and tell amma that we love her for getting you hooked on to comics :-))))))
@comic lover: bribed your manager? if he reads this then what!!! Delete comment? Congrats on the project going live. I am stuck in one of those never ending things myself lol..someone said Lifetime achievement winning :)

And to all of you:
It's a real joy to respond to your comments. There was a time when I didn't read them much until kiddo brought it to my notice. Now, I read it regularly.
