Comic #77: Phantom - The Blue Gang

Wednesday, December 28, 2005 Share: Digg Technorati Delicious StumbleUpon Facebook

Thanks for the birthday wishes, I am sure L1 got 'em. Ditto for comic lover and SALMAN KHAN :-) And thanks to Praveen G Kamath (See cover of this comic) and Misraji as always. Wow...3 days to go before this year is out.

Hey rs.....you in India?? grreat. The move from home-cooked food to mom-cooked food should feel great na? Ah sibling!! You appear just like you disappeared.

After a reminder from bachelor yesterday, I am "proud" to present 8 facts about myself. The tagging shall come later coz I really don't know anyone that I could tag..I mean..how would they take it ...etc etc.

8 Facts
Fact #1: I scratched the centre of my head so much in the last 15 years that the spot has now gone bald. Now at 32, I look much older :-( especially when someone looks at the back of my head.
Fact #2: Conceited (right kiddo?), Obnoxious, Big mouth, Lack of volume control. Have an opinion on almost everything. Insensitive, likely to say the worst thing at the worst time with little regard for etiquette or occasion. Blessed with a sharp tongue which I try to keep sheathed - not always successfully.
Fact #3: Love Monica Bellucci (Malena) and Ingrid Bergman (Casablanca) - Sizzling hot italian to the ice cool swede :-)
Fact #4: "Genetic Typist" I call myself. Because parents were typists/stenos, my grandfather was a steno, my father's younger brother started as a steno. And because I type quite fast.
Fact #5: Can cook quite well. Not a big menu but way beyond maggi and poha. And can safely say that anything Indian and Vegetarian that I cook for the second time, will be very tasty. The first time, will be between ok and edible. By the third time, I stop tasting what I cook as I am certain about its quality :-) Told you I'm conceited na? But avial is an exception as I have never tried cooking it.
Fact #6: Can cook up a story about anything. So much that even when I speak the truth, people find it hard to believe.
Fact #7: Am a spendthrift and careless about money. Money doesn't turn me on except when it comes to spending. Gadget crazy. But fortunately some gadgets are too expensive. Love computers. Spend most of the day in front of one, even at home.
When I say real estate, it is more likely to mean Hard disk space rather than a flat in a Bombay suburb.
Fact #8: Becoming decent at coining one-liners, mostly horrible...but some good. In a meeting today, I said "We don't get any communication regarding the status of DB Migration. We keep waiting for an update like ...pause...(flash of lightning...clap of thunder and EUREKA!!!) waiting for rain in a desert". If you like this one, I can present a few more ;-)

Now to the comic called the Blue Gang.

Thanks a lot for all the wishes...I hope everyone has a great holiday season and a fantastic NEW YEAR....

Time for those unrealistic new year resoultions.....
My resolution for this year is to post some interesting facts about TCP... not that I have to think too much but just that I need to figure out which ones qualify as the top 10.....

in true Dharam paji style, Maa Kasam, eeth ka jawab pathar se dunga

Anyways, in all seriousness (which is a rare quality for me), I appreciate the FACTS that have been mentioned and also that it took only 15 mins for TCP to think abt it....Thanks again!!!

Finally L1Cache writes...
(atleast that is what TCP/IP will think once they read it...)

@ bachelor: Sounding and dikhing me bahut farak hai bandhu!!! But it's not me with a huge collection of Indrajal comics, it's misraji (who is actually another human) who sends these to me. I just post them. Lately no access to a scanner but will soon, and that would result in more comics..nothing else. Am based in Amsterdam currently and I plan projects (because its easier than executing them)
@ L1Cache: Hmm L1 writes at last. Would be interesting to see how you will better my punches. The good thing is that I know it's not going to be in 2005 :-) and new year resolutions are never kept.

Hello hello hello all! Looks like I missed a couple of birthdays... belated wishes L1! And TCP too?

RS, you're in India? Wonderful. My greetings to the homeland.

Yes, netasterix, you do need to remove the comment moderator thingy.

Hope everyone had a jolly christmas, and will continue the celebration well into the new year :)

Have been swamped with work and travel TCP, hence the sporadic visits. Mostly rs and eldest tell me about postings during our phone conversations so I remain up to date! Nice to know a little about you though! L1cache, we now rely on you to dish the dirt on him! ;)

BTW, Rediff's list of ten trends that shaped India this year features, amongst other things, blogs! I would definitely list coming across this blog as one of the nicest things that has happened to me in 2005, thanks TCP! And thanks to the friend who first sent me this URL, who by the way is going to be a mom soon!

As I head out to India for a much needed reunion with the family (even willing to tolerate pesky rs!), I wish all of you a great year ahead!

P.s. Karthik, nice find! Must be some attempt at 'localization'! :)

TCP & Cloudy,

Have now removed the moderate option on my blog.
A happy new year (In advance) to the CP family ! (I guess, as regular TCP visitors, we can call ourselves the extended comic project family ;-)

A very Happy New Year to L1, i was late in wishing Happy Birthday, so thought of wishing Happy New Year instead, as on L1's birthday, its start of another new year of his life. And as we all know, we can wish Happy New Year anytime during first month of the year. So, L1, wishing you a very very happy new year of your life. I will wish for 2006 later :-)

net_asterix, I am going to upload some of the King Comics stuff this weekend. It will be uploaded to the gmail account. send me a mail with ur mail id (preferably gmail as its 2 gb), on desiguru at gmail. i will include u as well in the To list. I will only hv to send it once, no matter how many recipients are there in To list ;)

And TCP, as Mishraji is scanning Indrajal Comics in a big way, I will be scanning some of my Indrajal Comics in Hindi. This way, I will be able to provide some more scans for the BLog. I know the preferable language of comics will be english, but I think you can post some of hindi stuff in between as well. I would like someone here to scan Indrajal in other Indian languages as well. Not that I will be able to read it, but that will be a treat for those who loved the comics in their language during their childhood.

@ net_asterix: why extended yaar...it's the visitors who make this thing tick. Y'all are as much part of TCP as apun
@ desiguru: Waiting for the hindi comics. Will happily post them but bear in mind, I have quite a few in queue :-)
@ anthony: Warning!!! I think I'm gonna tag you..kya boltai?
