Comic #2: The Missing Trophy

Thursday, April 21, 2005 Share: Digg Technorati Delicious StumbleUpon Facebook

After the warm responses for the world premiere, I am glad to present the next comic called the "Missing Trophy". I am trying to bring out 1 comic a week as getting a couple of hours out of my schedule is a bit difficult. Here it is.

Hey buddy,

It looks like we have mirror image interests, at least in desi comics. Are you also from Bombay, cause that would explain a lot. I am really happy to have stumbled onto your site. I look forward to all your releases, esp anything indrajal.

Its me again. It would be so great if someone could put up tinkle comics, esp the earlier issues. I think it lost direction after the 1st 300 or so. Anyways, just a thought. Also, amar chitra katha is probably the greatest comic collection in recent memory.

hey anonymous nirav ;-) glad you stumbled across this site. Yep am from around bbay. I am planning to do only indrajal...mainly phantom. Mandrake/Bahadur may follow after this, Tinkle or ACK not immediately on the agenda. But if i run out of indrajals, i might just do a few ACKs. So watch out. Glad to see your comments, spread the word if possible

I sure have started to spread the word. I have already told most of my junta and we have started sharing them. Nothing comes close to the phantom/mandrake/bahadur combo. To tell you the truth, the one thing i miss when i read these on the pc, is the old comic smell that the yellowing pages used to emit. There is something nostalgic about that smell. Anyways, keep up the good work.

Dude. I see that you are using ImageShack. Not bad. But, give Plaxo-Hello a try if possible. It integrates directly with blogger, making image blogging a breeze. I highly recommend it, as it might save a lot of your time.

Cheers.

Interesting thought Nirav, the smell of first rain and old books. One that can't be captured and the other that only gets better with time. Desoumal, will try out Hello from the 4th comic. Thanks for the suggestion. Hey sumandatta, When I started this, I thought there would be people who would like it a bit, but the comments the project is getting is touching. Hope to keep going and digitize as much as possible.

These keep getting better and better!

It's scary that even though I have read (and own) all these comics back home in India, getting them online is awesome!

Also, have you setup some sort of hit-tracker, to see how many hits you are getting?

I usually use sitemeter.com's free one!

Dude,

You have reunited me with my childhood hero. May you be blessed with the mark of the Phantom. I have a huge collection of Phantom comics too back home in India. But those are the bound copies you can find on any railway station, bus terminal etc. But I think my cousin has a couple of Indrajal's in Black and White!! Yeah, my uncles and Dad were big fans too. So I will try to scan and put those up on my blog. Shall keep you posted.

Tanmay.
